Me or my dog Saidie. I would see Allan and his dog when walking every day around the park where we used to live. Our dogs initially didn't care about each other but with time love grew. They would romp and play and body check each other. Over time I got to know Allan and would listen to his stories about his clients and their homes. I never really knew how hard it was to sell a home but I knew that I wanted to work with him. My wife had a plan which was to put her mother in a nursing home in Eastern Ontario and then move there ourselves. It was all planned out but nobody foresaw Covid. A week after mom left, we listed the house and then everything shut down. No open houses, no showings.... wow it was scary. We kept on running into Allan and his dog and I would give each dog a cookie. With time I think his dog liked me better that Saidie. He loved those cookies. With time as well, our house did sell. It was not easy. The negotiations broke off 3 times before it stuck. Each time Allan reassured us that it was okay and at the end it was. We got the dollars we wanted and the sale was smooth. He used to come into my restaurant and we would sit and talk. One day I decided to sell the business and move from Orangeville to Cambridge. Allan was absolutely excellent to work with. He knew very little about commercial properties and so he brought a commercial agent to negotiate the transaction successfully. He then sold our home and he found another one close to the new business. When it was time to retire, he marketed the commercial property and got us top dollar when it did sell. We called him recently because of our health. We wished to be closer to our children and have easier access to hospitals. We ended up buying a nice home situated between our two boys and a week later Allan sold our home with minimal disruption to our lifestyle. He had just sold my neighbor’s house and he came over to introduce himself to us and leave a business card. Fast forward 2 years to April 2021. We are going to sell our house in Milton.
